ACIDaemon

Autonomous Computer Interface Daemon

Give your browser a job. Then walk away.

ACID browses, researches, signs in, uses tools, writes and runs code, and delegates work to subagents. It keeps going while you're away — and hands you the wheel the moment you want it.

Starter compute included. No card required.

How it works

Say what you want. ACID does the rest.

No model picker. No API keys. No provider setup. You describe an outcome; ACID plans it, opens the tabs, and reports back.

Give it an objective

Plain language. "Compare these five suppliers." "Watch this listing and tell me when the price drops."

It plans and delegates

ACID breaks the job down and spins up subagents, each with its own browser, working in parallel.

It works the web

Real pages. Real clicks. It reads, scrolls, fills forms, signs in where you've allowed it, and runs code when that's faster.

You get a result

A report, a dataset, a decision — plus exactly what it cost. Step in and take over at any moment.

Capabilities

A browser that can actually finish things.

Autonomy

Long-running tasks

Jobs that take minutes or hours don't need you watching. ACID keeps state, recovers from crashes, and picks up where it left off.

Delegation

Subagents in parallel

One objective becomes many workers, each in an isolated browser, so four sources get read at once instead of one after another.

Identity

Persistent browser identity

Sign in once. ACID keeps sessions, cookies and passkeys in an encrypted vault, scoped per site — and never shows secrets to a model.

Control

Human takeover

Watch it work live. Grab the mouse whenever you like, do the tricky bit yourself, and hand control straight back.

Local

Runs on your machine

The browser is real and it's yours. Pages render locally, in your Chromium profile, not on somebody's scraping farm.

Anywhere

Desktop and mobile

Start a job at your desk, check it from your phone. Same account, same tasks, same balance.

Desktop and mobile

Check in from anywhere. Or don't.

Tasks live on your account, not in a tab you have to keep open. ACID tells you when something needs a human — a verification code, a decision, a paywall — and waits for you instead of guessing.

Everything else, it just finishes.

Pricing

Start free. Pay for the compute you actually use.

No per-task limits. No message caps. No seats. A small job costs very little; a long autonomous investigation costs more, because it did more.

ACID Credits

Your balance is in dollars. Running a task draws it down based on the compute the work required — you never have to think in tokens.

  • Starter compute on signup, no card required
  • Top up whenever you like — $10, $25, $50 or $100
  • Credits don't expire and don't renew on their own
  • Every task shows exactly what it cost
  • Choose how good ACID should be, from "gets the job done" upward

Questions

Straight answers.

What does a task actually cost?

It depends on how much work it is. Reading a handful of pages and writing a summary is usually a few cents. A long investigation across dozens of sites with several subagents might be a dollar or two. Every task shows its cost when it finishes, and you can see the breakdown any time.

Do I need an OpenAI or Anthropic key?

No. ACID handles inference for you and bills it to your credit balance. If you'd rather run your own models — Ollama, LM Studio, vLLM, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint — you can, under Settings → Advanced → Inference. That's a power-user option, not a requirement.

Is it really my browser?

Yes. ACID is a Chromium browser that runs on your machine with your profile. Pages render locally. You can watch every action, take the controls mid-task, and stop it whenever you want.

What happens when I run out of credits?

ACID finishes anything it can safely finish, saves the task state, and asks you to top up. Nothing is thrown away — add credits and the work continues from where it paused.

What about sites I'm logged into?

Credentials live in an encrypted vault on your machine, scoped to the sites you allow. Secrets are never shown to a model and never leave your device in a prompt. When a site needs a human — a verification code, say — ACID stops and asks you rather than pretending.

Do credits expire or auto-renew?

They don't expire, and nothing recurring is switched on by default. Optional auto top-up exists for people who want it, and only after they explicitly turn it on.

What does ACID stand for?

Autonomous Computer Interface Daemon. It's a daemon in the old sense — a process that quietly gets on with work in the background — that happens to drive a browser.
